I admit this is a lot of money for a litter box. But if you love cats but hate litter boxes it is totally worth the price. I rescued my kitty from under the hood of my vehicle and decided I would give him a home. I have had many cats in the past but for the last 10 years have had an empty nest. So I really wasn't looking forward to scooping the litter box again. I have been working for someone who has two of these boxes and he convinced me this was the best thing ever if you have cats. My kitty is only about 6 months old but he took to this box immediately. He was so curious and couldn't wait to hop in and check it out. He likes to dig a pretty deep hole, several times, before he takes care of his business. To him, going to the litter box seems fun now. Once he finishes and jumps out, he will lay nearby and wait for the box to cycle so he can watch. For me, it's like I don't even have a litter box. I change the catch basin about every 5 to 6 days and beyond that just add a small amount of litter on occasion. Truly hassle and smell free. I highly recommend this litter box.

I've had cats all my adult life, mainly 2 at a time. I tried the horrible Litter Maid about 10 years ago and went back to the old fashioned scoop method. However, I recently lost one of my twins and added 2 to our household, which left me with 3 cats and 4 litter boxes. Throughout the years, I've always used just 1 litter box for 2 cats. With this new addition, I found out that sometimes cats require multiple litter boxes. I finally got fed up from having to scoop 4 litter boxes EVERYDAY and hoped that perhaps technology had improved with automatic litter boxes. I did a lot of research for the automatic litter boxes currently on the market and the Litter-Robot 3 Connect was ranked number 1! With it's generous 90 day return policy, I decided to give it a try. Although it's quite pricy, I can now attest that it is SOOOO WORTH IT!! I've had it for over a month now and it has changed my life! My cats love it! I thought they would be scared of it, but quite the opposite, they are so curious by it. Often I have to keep them out of it while the robot is trying to clean. It works EXACTLY as it is described! I went from 4 litter boxes to 2 - one litter-robot and 1 regular. Now, I'm moving one step ahead and getting a 2nd litter-robot for upstairs. And you definitely want to splurge for the litter-robot 3 connect so that you can use the App! It's extremely helpful when the cats play with it so much that it sometimes "freezes" after so many times of getting interrupted. I can turn it off, reset it, and turn it back on remotely while at work, and then she's back to cleaning! The cats love that they have a fresh litter box throughout the day. I cannot recommend this more!

Very easy to set up. Took all 3 of my cats about 2 weeks to get on board (I have one 12 yr old cat, she hates change), so my advice; keep your old box next to this one for a week or so. Once you've seen all of your cats use the box, dump that old one and never look back! It's easy to clean, handles 3 cats well. I dump the tray probably once a week. Love the app. It let's me know when the tray needs to be emptied etc. The night light is really cool, a nice unobtrusive blue. Really helps with odor control and the "kitty bathroom" area is just less messy.
The two provided bags for the tray were really much bigger than needed, and they are pricey, so I just ordered a big box of small waste can bags from Costco, which fit perfectly and should last me 4 or 5 months, and I just use regular clumping litter, easy peasy lemon squeezy. In short, highly recommend, would buy again!

Held off on buying one of these for a long time, then i bit the bullet. I am very pleased. I have only had it a couple months, but initial results are satisfying. It is quiet enough i suppose, I am partially deaf and can hear it cycle, but its not super loud. It does a excellent job sifting the litter. my cats took to it readily.

As far as the litter tray is concerned it does EXCELLENT. no mess with that. But, you MUST get the ramp that is sold separately. one of my cats is a bonafide excavator and if i hadnt gotten the ramp, i would have a real mess on my hands.

The wifi was broken on the base i received, their customer service was excellent and sent me a new base.

See below for my original 1 star review. I'm giving it 5 stars now, but hoping that my 5 star review is not premature. The first one that I got was faulty. The bonnet would not complete the circuit, to let the robot know that the bonnet was secured--also, since it wouldn't complete the circuit, the night-light didn't work...but that's the least of my concerns. I finally opened a support ticket at [email protected], did a bunch of troubleshooting, sent pictures etc. and I just got a replacement; cleaned the faulty one to ship back to them, on their dime. If the new one generally works, then I'll give it 5 stars just because it gives my cats a constantly clean place to do their business. I still have litter boxes (multiple cats) because I haven't forced them to use the bot...but I think I'll start taking away the other boxes & see if I can force them to the bot. The original/faulty one worked to a minimum degree, after I taped a penny across the contacts, to fool the unit into thinking that the bonnet was in place. But the original unit would also throw a bunch of errors in the app, and I'd either have to remotely run a cycle, or remotely reboot it from the app to reset the unit. So, it's cool that the machine lets you know its status in the app, and I could keep it limping along remotely--I once ran a cycle from the ski area parking lot, then it worked and cleared the error & showed "Ready". The replacement worked right out of the gate. The bonnet works, completes the circuit, and the night-light works too. Now I just have to see if it will consistently function, without errors. Note: I watched other youtube videos before purchasing--don't over fill with litter, theres a molded line that you should not fill past. The thing is definitely expensive, but again, if it gives my little loves a clean toittey all the time, then it's worth it to me. I read an online review where they said something like "It's the best automatic litter box, but we still don't recommend it..." I think just because of the price. But think of how much coin you blow on other stuff...thousands a year on unnecessary things perhaps? I love my cats, and I hate cleaning boxes...so it's worth it to me. But if the replacement starts throwing errors, I'll be back to change my review...

    Original 1 star review below:

Headline: Junk! Worked once, now "Bonnet is removed"

Got it out of the box on day one, I was excited when one of my cats used it for the first time and it worked well. However that was it. Now it just blinks and sends an error that the bonnet is removed. The bonnet is not removed. The bonnet is securely fastened. To troubleshoot, I have removed the bonnet several times and checked the connections. For the price of this device it should not be this flakey and error on day one. I cannot get it past the error. I've powered it on and off, checked everything I can. ADDENDUM: I ended up taping a penny across the contacts of the base to get past the "bonnet is removed" error--and in doing so, it defeats the night light. It's functioning now, but I'm going to leave the one star review to see if I get the attention of the manufacturer, because hacking together an expensive piece of gear is lame.

I've read other reviews trashing this, and I believe it's because they didn't know how to use it, or didn't have the patience to work with it.

I have to admit, it took a bit to work as it's not as simple as just setting it up and plugging it in. It has some quirks, but once you get the hang of it, it's easy to operate and now I barely touch it unless I need to empty out the pan, or the occasional restart because the WiFi for the box crashes.

    Quirks:

    1) If you put too much litter, it will think another cat entered the box as it's cleaning (detecting weight). It's best to keep it a bit below the line rather exactly at the line, because clumps will add more weight to it and could stop the cycle. You can also manually cycle it if gets stuck, from the box or the app.

    2) The cycle will stop when another cat uses it before the cycle starts, or even during. Just let it do its thing after awhile and it will clean itself.

    3) The box will not continue if the pan is full, and the blinking blue light means to empty it out.

If you get this box, you should install and use the app. You can turn off the light on the inside, change the cycle timings and more. I believe my cats were initially afraid of the light inside, as they usually have a box in the dark.

To get all 3 of my cats to actually use this this took some real patience:

The 1st day none of them use it, they just peeked at it and walked away.

The 2nd day a cat used it, but when the machine cycled, all of them freaked out and none of them used it the rest of that day. Instead one of the cats left a #2 surprise next to the box.

The 3rd day another cat or two used it, but overall they only used it once a day. The third cat started peeing everywhere in the house, and I had to clean it up.

The 4th day cats are using the box more except one which keeps peeing and pooping outside the box. I had to do more clean up, but the other cats seemed to have made peace with the box.

By the 5th day and ever since, all cats now use the box regularly and not one of them peed or pooped outside the box which is a good thing.

A week later they've started using it multiple times a day and now they don't freak out when they hear it cycling. They'll take a peek, but otherwise will ignore it.

After the break-in period, the box has become totally worth it.

I also want to add that so far I saved $100 in cat litter for three cats since dumping it all out was the easiest method of cleaning their old box. In fact it took 4 weeks just for the littler to run low enough for me to have to buy more, and that was with an open box of litter that wasn't even full.

What makes it worth it all is that the tray easily comes out, just pull the liner out (if you're using any) and throw it away.

To me this was totally worth the cost and I would definitely recommend and would even buy another whenever it comes time. And the app is good too.

I will start out - I love this unit! It's great. It's works how it's supposed to work. The app works how it's supposed to work. It smells way better than it's supposed to work. And for 1 of my cats, it's pure magic... For the other stinkpot, he hasn't learned to like it yet. He sniffs at it, watches it do its magic to clean, and yet, won't go in it. We have even arranged "his" litter box in such a way that he was to walk over the Litter-Robot stairs to get into "his". Can't understand it, but the Litter-Robot has still cut my work in half and I'm hoping that one day 100% of my cats will love this unit too!

A friend talked this up to me for a good while before I gave in and bought one. I admit, it's better than I expected. I was pretty skeptical. The digital setup was more confusing than I would have liked, but I got through it, and now it runs pretty smooth. Cats use them (I have two, now). Swapping out the collection bags is easy. Smell is essentially nonexistent. I would recommend this, in spite of the "Are you kidding me???" nature of the price for a litter box. If you want cheap, please enjoy your smelly, unpleasant daily scooping for $10. After 17 of owning cats (well vice versa, really) my wife had enough of the mess and agreed to spend what is actually a lot for the LitterRobot. In the end, the price was well worth the drop in stress and mess.

Technically it's pretty good. Older cat is too light to activate sensor, but that's not a big problem. You just cycle it yourself with cycle button, or push down lightly on inner shell until trigger light turns on, and it cycles.

We'll see what happens if parts ever break. But we've had it for ~3mos now.

Straight to the heart: overpriced but works very well. Spending this much on a litter box sounded like a crazy idea, but dealing with litter on a daily basis is quite the task for some. This machine will definitely make the litter chores be far far less work. It works very well and cleaning out the collection chamber is easy enough. It doesn't block all of the smell though, even with the carbon filters and some odor absorbent powder you can still smell it sometimes (I guess it depends how smelly your cats are). I was skeptical our cats would use it. We have an older, fluffier, cat, and a younger skittish cat. They both are using it though, and actually prefer it over the regular litter boxes as it's always clean and ready to go. It came nearly completely assembled, and set up was easy, even the wifi and app. It works very well and we have had no trouble with it at all. If you struggle with litter chores and have the cash, this machine is worth it. If you're worried your cats won't go near it, check out the manufacturer's trial period information.

It's the best thing ever in self-cleaning cat boxes. I love the app which tells me the status of it. Such as when it has cycled, when the bottom drawer liner is full, etc. I use Arm & Hammer No Cloud Slide Clumping Cat Litter and it works perfectly. It has not jammed or clogged the sifting. I use Lysol disinfectant wipes to clean the inside dome when I change the bottom drawer litter bag. I change out the litter bag 3 times a week with 3 cats. I have them on a Vet Diet Urinary cat food which makes them use it often. I am so happy that I bought the Litter-Robot as it does what it says it will do and it saves me so much time from tending to a normal cat box.

I was motivated to get it because my back ached from cleaning out 2 litter boxes and I needed to go get in the recliner to recover at 73. It is expensive, but I considered a comparison with a plane ticket and hotel stay, and I'm not doing that these days. It is very safe for curious cats who took to it right away. One is a kitten about 6 months old and the other is of indeterminate old age (had 6 teeth pulled last year!) I recommend getting the steps and mat , why not if you are already spending that much.

We have 3 young Persian long hair cats. Normal litter boxes were difficult to keep clean so the stuff would not get in their hair. We decided to try the Litter-Robot and are very pleased. The robot works great to keep the bad stuff away from your kitty. I had an issue with the unit after 3 months of use and contacted support. We had it fixed in less than a day. Great customer service. If you are looking to get an automatic litter box, this is the one.

I know this thing is expensive for a litter box, but the time you save by not having to scoop is so worth it. And we use way less litter than we did before as well. So we will over time make some of the money we spent on this back - although we'll never fully break even. But if you don't want to scoop, you don't want it to smell and you don't want kitties to have accidents elsewhere because they want a clean box, this is the way to go. It's easy to set up and both of my cats took to it right away. I left an old litter box next to it and let it get really gross. But a few days in, both cats were using this instead. The kitten LOVES to watch it turn so as soon as it activates it's clean cycle, she's in there watching it. But I love this thing so much, I bought a second. There have been no outside of the box accidents since I bought the first one and the smell is GREATLY reduced. I know in some of the promo videos they have this thing sitting in a living room... I wouldn't get that far. If I sit next to it, I can smell it. But a few feet away, I can't smell it unless the drawer is full. And I love that the drawers notify me that they're full so I can easily empty them. The only real problem is that despite the mat, litter still ends up outside of the box. But that probably has more to do with my kitten being overzealous when she is done poo-ing. Either way, love this thing and I'm so glad we bought it!

I have two 4 year old cats that took to it within a few days and a poorly socialized 13 year old cat who used it within 2 days of coming into our home.
Honestly didn't realize how badly a litter box smells and how much dust it produces until I had this for a couple weeks and everything was contained in the drawer. Even when removing from the drawer to dispose the bag, as long as you gently lift instead of jerking it out, there's very minimal dust.
It is big and it's not silent, but the only thing I really wish were different is the lip at the entrance. It's about 1" tall, stretches across the bottom entrance, and has a small hole leading into the litter area. 13yo cat is long and arthritic, so he doesn't fit totally inside nor can he bend well enough to tuck himself in, which means he frequently urinates into that area and that extra rubber strip means it doesn't fully drain.

I have a lot of cats and got really tired of scooping. I have 2 litterbots so far and have done away with most of my scooping already! With the number if cats I have, I usually have to replace the bag once a day with 25+ cats. My worst problem is that my Bengals love to jump in when it starts turning and try to catch the clumps as they drop! My units average 45 cycles per day each. I use mini crystals to avoid most of the mud streaks. Very pricey, but my back thinks it's worth every penny! I plan to buy 2 more...I highly recommend the entire package including the fence, steps and mat.

**Update since initial review: Still no regrets! We absolutely don’t know why didn’t buy this years ago. I just completed my first disassembled deep cleaning of the litter robot and it could not have been simpler. I got the dawn dish soap and the garden hose disassembled and cleaned per the Wiskers youtube instructions and cleaning went off without a hitch! 10 minutes is all it took. Now leaving it outside to dry in the windy shade just to avoid the possibility of warping. If your still on the fence about it, you should not be. One Tip: So I know what you’re thinking when you look at the price tag of a product such as this, but imagine how much time you spend cleaning your cats litter box especially if you have multiple cats/boxes?

We have had this product for about three days now and I must say it is a total pet owning game changer! As a germophobic, cleaning the litter box is a disgusting chore!! One that I was willing to spend hours of training to teach them to use the toilet for. But upon further research that isn’t so great for your plumbing. Meh!

But then I came upon this litter robot and thought if it can eliminate my germ anxiety as a mom with two kids in sports during a pandemic. I’m down to try!

So I bought the whole kit plus new litter (Boxie) as my previous litter (feline pine mixed with naturally fresh walnut based) was not quick clumping and wood based neither which were compatible.

The mat is durable and catches any stray litter tapped on the paws, the steps catch a bit more than other reviews lead on but that also led me to buy the Boxie which is quick clumping and low tracking. The steps easily detach and I simply pour the litter that is outside back in the dome. The app works well and connected just fine.
I did quick switch them with no transition but they use it just as much as the other one. And I haven’t touched the scooper since. The thing even levels the litter back out. With the litter box being clean every time they go in I find they fling less litter by trying to bury it.
This product is a definite must buy!!!

I have 2 cats, and have always had to maintain 2 litter boxes daily for quite a number of years now. It wears on you. That's probably why you're here and reading reviews... I have known these litter box machine things exist for a while, but I had a bit of a sort of "solve it right forever" mindset that lead me to theoretically prefer the cat genie (self washing litter box), which lead to a long delay before finally ordering anything it mostly due to plumbing considerations.

2 months into the cat genie, it's been used by the cats maybe 8 times. I was following the acclimation guide, but without much success as the cats didnt really like the washable (and thus non clumping) granules.

So I decided to return the cat genie and get this Litter Robot.

Day 1 and within 10 minutes of setting it up (which was effortless), the cats immediately went at it. They immediately preferred it to both their old litter boxes (clumping) and of course the cat genie with its washable granules.

In terms of post-visit cycle duration, the cat genie takes like 45 minutes to wash while this is done in 2 minutes.

The cat genie has lots of loud popping noises as the genie's scoop brutishly knocks the scoop every now and again throughout the cleaning cycle. The Litter Robot is pretty much quieter overall.

It's also a profoundly different experience for the cats not only for sound, but also since anything moving is weird to cats and the longer it moves the weirder it is. Since it finishes scooping so quickly, it's not an ordeal.

It's also a big, which is good because cats shouldn't feel cramped, and I prefer an enclosed unit overall. The Litter Robot uses the enclosed shape as a functional feature and rather cleverly. The cat genie by comparison is quite cramped with its add-on cover.

Anyway, I'm super happy with the Litter Robot. It's a game changer for me, and even my cats notably appreciate a completely clean litter box for each visit. The price is high, but the value is unmatched as far as litter boxes and accessories go. 5/5 stars plus 2 thumbs up from hands that will not be scooping today! 👍 👍

I use less litter now due to the system really saves the good litter to remain in the Bonnett, I could not believe I would pay $699.00 for a cat litter box , just wish I had did it a long time ago. If any thing ever happens to this one I will be reordering . Thank you litter robot 3 you have a customer for life 😻😻😻

We noticed the pee gets on the back of the robot and on the floor. We use fresh step unscented clumping litter and it has made a mess. Overall we love it but not sure why it's making such a mess

I was skeptical for sure before buying but had a friend talk me into it. Very glad I bought it. I have three cats, one elderly. All took to the Litter Robot very easily. I only change the bag out about every two weeks, no smell. The app is really nice because it tells me when the bag needs changing. Def get the whole package which includes the stairs and litter mat. Very little tracking of litter beyond the mat. Great product.

One of my family members got the Litter Robot and was singing its praises to me. I have two cats and I finally decided to try. I have only had the Litter Robot for 6 days and both of my two cats have acclimated and on day 5 I was comfortably able to dispose of the old litter box. As the person who always had to clean the litter box, having the Litter Robot is like a miracle. So far, it has performed exactly like it claimed that it would. Highly recommend if you have cats and hate their litter box as much as they probably do. Clean litter all of the time, no smell, and the first bag lasted for 4 days before the app notified me that it was full. And I have two sizable male cats. I know it's pricey, but I'm not sorry that I went for it.

Let's have an honest review here... I'm going to start with the fact that as cat owners we all love our cats they are our joy they bring us so much happiness. A truth that we've all held is that we've bitched and moaned and complained for years about having to scoop kitty litter it's not enjoyable, it can be difficult painful for some people if they have injuries, and you always end up somehow making a mess either with or without the assistance of your cats. So I decided to make the financial investment and get the little robot and I paid a little more to get the version that included Wi-Fi and I have no regrets and I am literally 4 days in.
It's is amazing. My cats have had no problems using it, the Wi-Fi app lets me know if there's an issue and when the litter box is full, or when I have to swap out the bags. Knowing that I don't have to go around digging in a litter box anymore makes me infinitely happier. Let's talk smell which with a standard litter box we know is always an issue even those of us that meticulously scooped our litter box on a daily basis. My house currently does not smell like a house with cats my family members have come in and are amazed that I have two cats and they can't smell the litter box. I know that this is a financial investment it's very expensive there's no ifs ands or buts around it but I will tell you that 4 days in.... this is a purchase I would make again every single time.

We were reluctant to buy a Litter-Robot 3, however, we are so glad we did now! Here's "the scoop"... (pun intended).
    1. It saves on litter used. We have 4 cats and used to go through 3 of the 40-lb bags of litter every 2 weeks (we had 4 litter boxes that we scooped twice a day). Now we use 1 40-lb bag every 2 weeks (not used all at once, but replenishing a little every day).
    2. It saves on time scooping (actually eliminates scooping!). Now we can clear the bin in one swoop versus fighting the dust (even for 99% dust free). We found substitute bags because the $1-per-bag deal they have going is nutz (and wife says their bags are not bio-degradable).
    3. Saves space! Well, for us, it does. We had finicky cats that each had a favorite box and if one of the other cats used their box we'd sometimes find a retaliatory surprise just outside the box (ewww!). This Litter-Robot 3 has eliminated the "turd wars" and they all use the new box without issue! Also, while bulky (could not get the Litter-Robot3 into the "almost" 24-inch doorway of our spare bathroom), it saved us space since we replaced 4 litter boxes.
    4. Scent... OK, you gotta change this bad boy out after a solid day of use by 4 cats (our cats go outdoors, and may not be ONLY using the new box, so take that into account). Still, we use a little baking soda in the litter and in the pan to cut down on the odor. Sometimes, though, you still gotta empty that out if even a single cat manages to do their dirty business and it smells like death invaded the room! Yikes!

Overall, the Litter-Robot 3 has made use into believers of this product and we are recommending it to our neighbors, friends, and anyone that will listen (my wife was telling people at the supermarket about it, today. LoL!). Yeah, this device will probably pay for itself after about 2 years just in litter (did not mention the lunch bags that we also would buy, but less often than litter), and quicker if you count time spent scooping and bending over trying not to gag or cursing because the litter is stuck! Hope this review helps make you a believer, too!

I bought this to try it a few days/weeks before deciding to buy a second one (One downstairs, One Upstairs). I have another brand upstairs that "self-cleans" and the litter is very expensive. In calculating my savings on litter alone, Litter-Robot 3 will pay for itself in under 1 year. It's placed in our mudroom and as we enter from the garage, I can only smell a pleasant fragrance given off by the brand of litter we bought (Tidy Cats). There are no more foul odors lingering like the "self-cleaning" one upstairs. This one truly self cleans, whereas the other one has items sticking to the rakes. I loved it so much in my first couple of days, I bought a second one to replace the upstairs litter box.

I have 2 cats, they took to it right away. In fact, because it is always 'cleaned', it is the only box they use. I have 3 other standard boxes - but they will go out of their way to use this one. Note: one of my cats is 5.2 pounds and it still works for her (I was concerned she might not activate the cleaning cycle being so light). I will be purchasing another one - and getting rid of the 3 standard boxes. Reminder that you need an outlet near this box.

I started out with automatic little boxes with the PetSafe product, but the proprietary litter they require has gotten so expensive as to make them untenable for my budget. I got this Litter Robot and, yes, it costs a lot. Perhaps too much. But on the other hand, it will pay for itself after only 3 or 4 months of not having to replenish the PetSafe litter anymore for my 6 cat boxes.

My cats like the Litter Robot as well as any other box they've had to use, if not more. I believe I will be able to get away with only two of these devices instead of the 6 needed to accommodate my 7 cats.

There was a period where the cat sensor didn't work, and I had to use the app to manually start a clean cycle a few times a day. Turned out I just needed to clean the box and it's working perfectly again.

Except when changing the litter bag, the smell of the litter box is a non-issue. You can stand right next to this thing and not get the barest hint of an odor.

We’ve had the unit about a week now and both cat adopted it immediately, with one cat literally climbing into it the minute I took it out of the box. Didn’t even have litter in it, he just liked the cave. That being said, both cats have used covered litter boxes before so this wasn’t anything particularly new to them. They already use this one more than their regular boxes which is exactly what we wanted, less cleaning for us. The cleaning cycle is slow but that’s a good thing because I’m positive one of the cats is going to try to climb in as it’s cleaning once they’re more used to the clean cycle. Side note, the cats watching it clean for the first time was absolutely hilarious, they were entirely mesmerized.

The one minor problem we have had is that sometimes one of the cats likes to stick his butt in without actually getting in the box and pooping right on the edge of the litter, which the box doesn’t really have a way to perfectly clean and it usually comes back to the regular position with a piece of poop still in it. It always gets taken care of in the next cycle, but I wish the slope was a little steeper in the poop drop area.

In terms of noise, I think it’s pretty quiet, my partner disagrees, he thinks it’s loud. Can’t hear it in the next room though, so it’s all good. I haven’t connected it to my phone yet but I will update after I’ve done that.

I have been a cat owner for 32 years now. I love my fur babies. The litter box has always been an off and on problem. Sometimes my cats use it and sometimes they don't. I tried having multiple litter boxes around the house (not ideal) and every single auto litter box cleaner that's ever been on the market and they all end up in the trash.

The Litter-Robot is a true miracle. I have 4 cats so I bought two of them. Since I set them up I have not had a single potty accident. My cats love them, they don't have any oder and I only have to empty the catch trays once a week - vs scooping four litter boxes every day. The catch trays are super easy to empty. I literally worship this thing. After years of off and on struggles I finally found a solution that WORKS!!

I know they are expensive but worth every penny.

Wow. I was very skeptical of this machine. And especially for the price I was worried my cat wouldn't take to it. But I pulled the trigger and gave it a shot. Totally worth it. My cat is 4 years old. We moved her old box out of the guest bedroom into our bedroom and she was in it within 24 hours to do her business. We trash the old box and went cold turkey even moving this unit. I did do it one day in old spot then moved to our bedroom. We've had almost a week now and it's amazing. Totally worth it if you're on the fence like I was.

With multiple cats, 1 being blind, I was skeptical but hopeful.
Realized the Arm & Hammer Slide litter works best, the old litter I was using a long time would leave clumps stuck to the insides that wouldn't empty into the bin during the cleaning cycle so would end up back in with the cleaned litter. It's more expensive litter but you use so little at a time it's definitely worth it & lasts longer.
Bought 2 of these, 1 cat took to it within a few days, the others have taken about 2 weeks & just now my blind cat used it the 1st time !! So excited!!

I don’t ever want to go back to doing litter boxes another way. I know the rule of thumb is two cats need three boxes, but our two do great with just this one. I never scoop anymore. We get text alerts telling us when the thing has cycled and how full the tray is and when it needs cleaned. The bags that are in the tray are big enough you can get plenty of clearance where you don’t accidentally touch the poop. People can’t smell our cat box when they come over. There have been two times over the 3 Months we have had it that it has had to be manually re-started and I hope this isn’t a sign it’s starting to wear down considering we haven’t even paid it off. But it’s been phenomenal. Highly recommend. I do hate taking it fully apart and wiping it down. Occasionally getting some urine that leaks behind it and occasionally needing to take it apart and scrub it down. But I never scoop anymore. I change the bag about twice a week for two cats. Oh and we use regular seal and clip litter and it works fine. Honestly we go through so much less litter now, too.

Litter robot has simplified our lives when it comes to the cats! My husband and I both hated scooping every day (we could never keep up with it daily anyway) and it would get disgusting after a few days. Now, don’t have that problem anymore! We had a few glitches the first month we had it with it getting stuck mid-cycle and installing the battery back up was a bit confusing, but after a month we got the issues worked out and now it’s been smooth sailing! I had tried other less expensive scoop-less systems, and everyone of them were a waste, wish I would have just bitten the bullet and bought the litter robot to begin with, worth every penny! Best $500+ money i ever spent! The one negative is that the liner bags collecting the waste aren’t being used to capacity, so it feels like a big waste of a bag, but I don’t see any other way to get more in the bag or use a smaller bag, so a small issue in the grand scheme of things, and overall not a big deal. We have found to save a little bit of money using a cheap, regular 13 gallon trash bag works just fine so we don’t have to purchase the litter robot specific liners, still have capacity waste, but rather have that any day than have to scoop!
